ABOUT GRIFFIN GOODMAN

Griffin Goodman is an artist, painter, and designer living and working in Chicago, Illinois.

Working across painting, sculpture, drawing, and design, Goodman creates densely layered, sugar-coated constructions that bring together cartoon characters, pop culture, art history, everyday objects, and personal symbols. Somewhere between Andy Warhol and Where’s Waldo?, his work invites viewers into colorful, chaotic worlds that reward slow looking, playful discovery, and unexpected connections.

Beneath the humor and visual overload, Goodman explores the complexities of identity, memory, boyhood, relationships, and contemporary life. Familiar imagery becomes a way to navigate more complicated feelings, creating work that is at once accessible, absurd, and psychologically charged.

Alongside his studio practice, Goodman collaborates with brands, cultural institutions, and community organizations on projects spanning design, murals, and public art. His work has been exhibited internationally and featured in Forbes, Newcity, New American Paintings, LUXE Interiors + Design, and other publications. He was named to the 2025 Forbes 30 Under 30 list for Art & Style and recognized in Newcity’s Art 50.

Goodman received his BFA from Ringling College of Art and Design in 2017 and his MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2019.
